Harold M. (Sonny) Cohen became senior vice president of legal affairs, corporate secretary and general counsel of AFC Enterprises, Inc. in September 2005.
Mr. Cohen has served as chief administrative officer of Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen, a division of AFC Enterprises, Inc., since 2009 and general counsel of Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen since January 2005. He also served as the vice president of AFC since July 2000. Mr. Cohen is responsible for all legal affairs of the Company, serves as a member of the senior management team, serves as corporate secretary to the Board of Directors, and acts as an advisor to the CEO, CFO and other employees.
From April 2001 to December 2004, Mr. Cohen served as deputy general counsel of AFC. From August 1995 to June 2000, he was corporate counsel of AFC. Mr. Cohen was responsible for legal oversight of all transactional matters of the Company, including franchising, real estate, IT, and M&A activities.
Prior to joining AFC, Mr. Cohen was in private legal practice for seven years. He is an alumna of Tulane University and Georgetown University Law Center, from which he graduated with honors.
